I disagree that "media" overall should be excluded, if you"ve covered the NBA and watched a ton of games for 20 years you probably know something about basketball.

But local and team-specific media members cannot be part of the vote, the reporter mentions that in the article. Over time it"s been demonstrated that those folks aren"t objective or significantly knowledgeable.

總得來說我不同意「媒體」該被排除在外，如果你負責報道NBA，看了20多年NBA比賽，那你很可能是懂球的。

How does that even happen? When I do All-Star voting I have a glance at the league leaders just to make sure I haven"t missed out on anyone. You would think media members would do the same. No one should be forgetting about KD.

The media hates guys like James Harden and Demarcus Cousins so I have to agree with him. The all-star game is all about what the fans want to see. Fans aren"t the best voters either, fans love Harden and Cousins more than the media and they are actually stars who should be playing.

I think the only reason people care so much is that all-star nominations are brought up when discussing a player"s legacy or greatness.

I guess it depends on the goal. If the goal is to have the best players in the All-Star game, then the media should have enormous control over that, up to 40 or even 50% imo. But I always thought the All-Star game was who the fans wanted to see, not necessarily who"s the best.

I get the complaint regarding bias (not sure the media will be a huge improvement over fans) but I don"t think he has anything to worry about. The cavs get a ton of coverage and the media might love him more than casual fans

Kyrie should be an all-star regardless of any kind of voting, imo. I doubt thats why he said it, also he made a great point.

Edit: What I"m saying is, fans will look at his finals performance and vote based on that. In reality, there are guards playing better than Irving as of right now.

Why do the fans get ripped every year for their selections for a game that was invented for the fans? The coaches make just as questionable of decision yet every year we have to hear from Barkley and everybody else that the fans shouldn"t vote.

I don"t agree with the change. The all-star weekend is strictly a fan service. The media are the outsiders here and should have no saying whatsoever. It"s like having other countries vote in the US election.
