they made it to the goddamn finals in 2012, and were considered an even match against the Heat. They even had home court advantage. That too in a small market team, with the risk of losing your stars, you just have to sign them.

They went to finals at a very young age, and were going to make it for nearly the next decade. They let it go because of 5 million dollars and also not wanting paying the repeater tax.

It amazes me that Presti is able to be such a good GM even with an owner that cheaped out on a potential dynasty

If you think the ownership was trying to save $5m, that s not accurate. They were trying to save four years of tax bills including the highly punitive repeater tax ready to kick in just as KD and Russ would be due for pay raises. KD s retroactive salary increase hit OKC very hard at the worst possible time.

Before you say it, amnesty of Perkins was not on the table. Our depth at center over those years included Nenad Krstic, Cole Aldrich, and Hasheem Thabeet.

He has Lebron-esque athleticism, the cyborg kind. He ll cruise on good-great athleticism and bring out godlike athleticism when he needs it.

His skills and fundamentals improve every year and he ll still be pretty dope at 35.
