There are lots and lots of rich kids who buy high-end designer clothes. If he was a white girl or even a preppy white boy this probably doesn"t happen.

Age might be a factor but race is a far bigger factor. It sucks, but that"s the world we live in today.

I mean, it depends a lot on how he was dressed too. Usually rich white kids are dressed up in preppy, high-end designer clothes like you said, so the employees know they have money.

If DSJ just rolled into Gucci"s with some Nike sweats and a tanktop, it"s reasonable that they"d think he can"t afford anything. If he was dressed up in preppy clothes or a suit/tie, then the employees would most likely offer to help him.

而且也取決於他當時穿了什麼吧？那些白人富二代們一般都會穿著潮牌去買潮牌，這樣員工就知道他們富了。如果DSJ穿著耐克休閑褲和背心就去Gucci溜，那些員工覺得他是個窮逼這也情有可原。如果他稍微穿好點，銷售員也應該不會不理他。

slightly related but my ex worked at the lacoste in georgetown dc. all the high end shops in the area were in a groupme network and they were CONSTANTLY sounding the alarm about suspicious looking people and the description almost always basically boiled down to 「black and i don』t know him/her personally」

Same. White guy who dresses well( I hope anyways) and I don』t even get helped in like Calvin Klein or American Eagle, let alone Gucci.

I think there』s a race conversation to be had, but not getting helped in a Gucci Store isn』t uncommon for anybody.

I hate to say it but Gucci is a whole different world compared to American Eagle or Calvin Klein. I see those places at outlet malls. Gucci is true high end stuff.

I"m a normal looking white dude and I"ve gone into Gucci and been given the cold shoulder. It"s actually one of their selling tactics because it makes the average person want to buy something out of spite. I know I was tempted to buy a cologne just because I knew they thought I wouldn"t.

我也是正常男性白人，在Gucci也被無視。

這其實是他們的一種銷售手段，因為這樣的話，普通人就更想證明自己，為扇導購的臉而剁手。就我個人而言，我有一次買古龍水的內在原因就是我知道那些店內員工覺得我窮逼買不起。

Fuck! I"ve done that exact thing before, bought some Ralph Lauren cologne and some Ray Ban aviators because they were eyeballing me at some store in the mall

Damn it I"m a sucker. At least the Ray Bans have lasted me for years longer than other sunglasses because I know I"d be so mad at myself if I lost them

no it isn"t. that"s just a bad customer experience due to a poorly trained or motivated sales staff. corporate would be pretty upset to hear about it.

別說的這麼玄學，什麼銷售手段都是假的，這不過就是沒訓練好的員工提供的低質量的服務罷了，公司上層聽了會很失望的。
