藝術家感興趣於在微觀維度下思考歷史檔案里未被記載的事物的可能。在數字多媒體時代的今天,記憶被泛濫地修改和使用。面對同一對象的記載在不同的版本下有著驚人的差異,誰又能判斷並留下真正的真實?
在這個作品計劃中, 藝術家借取觀光客們記錄的從海面上不同的出發地點開往三藩市海岸過程的影像, 一方面藝術家嘗試移情去體驗那種冒險家和開拓者曾經在這裡體驗時所抱有過的期待和慾望, 另一方面他試圖提出一個關於客觀歷史是如何被擇寫進個體經驗的問題: 僅從第三方的紀錄中理解到的一個城市——三藩市:一座充滿殖民主義色彩的城市, 會改變人們對它美好的印象嗎? 假如是從Alamenda 出發而不是 Vallejo, 情況會隨之而不一樣嗎?

The Artist is interested in using microscopic dimensions to think about the grey field of historical documents which has not been recorded yet. Specially nowadays, memory has been widely revised and reused in our digital time. Even the same object have striking difference under different versions of records. So who can judge and leave the real true?
In this project, the artist borrowed several tourist s record when they were approaching to the wharf of San Francisco. On one hand, the artist try to empathize how the explorers had ever experienced when they first time came to this new land. On the other hand, he raise a question that how the objective of history would be written to the individual experience: if all the understanding about this city---San Francisco just come from the third party , will it eventually destroy people』s impression about the place? how about if the artist start from Alameda to approach it rather than Vallejo, will it be so different in the memory?

夢 (2』10」) 是一段關於虛擬幻覺和一個特殊空間環境產生有趣的「同頻感知效應」。畫面中,是一面有規則的全景式玻璃窗,藝術家在拍攝過程中將鏡頭從左到右, 緩慢地移動向觀眾展示開來。這種奇怪的觀察方式創建了一個「移情」的多媒體體驗,類似於人們在觀察監控屏幕似的幻燈片。
Dream(2』10」) is a video about virtual hallucinations and a special space environment produce interesting perception of the same frequency effect . in the video, the regularly glass windows display a panorama landscape ,which appeared from left to right on the screen,at a slow pace . This strange observation create a transference of digital experience which similar like watching the slideshow in the monitor.

這些一系列的作品圖像的繪製參考了中國股票市場在2015年6月以來倒塌時的走勢。超過2000點下挫, 並且情況變得越來越糟糕。雖然這些經濟圖表以非物質的形式存在,但深遠影響著中國實體的發展。邱經緯說:「圖表上那些精緻而簡單的線條總給我一種美麗且憂傷的感覺。」

These series of drawing come from the diagram of stock market in China which was collapsed since June 2015. More than 2 thousand points were dropped and the situation are constantly going worse . Although these economical diagram are unphysical existed, the impact influence the whole landscape of Chinese development . 「On the other hand, these elegant and beautiful simple lines convoy a kind of mirthless feeling to me.」said by the artist.

Once , when I looked up some science photos. I was deeply attracted by those mysterious and magnificent detail of them. These thousands gorgeous images were shot by different high tech equipments, like HIV bacteria of electron microscope , brain activity of FMRI scan, artificial landscape of thermal detection, and etc.The new technology not only help us further pursue the truth , mean while, they are constantly exploring our visual language which conducive to the deeper cultural exchanges.

真正的戰爭是血腥暴力和殘忍不安的。但在新聞鏡頭下的戰爭圖像僅僅成為人們茶餘飯後的談資和對世界現狀的粗略概括。沒有人會對這一類型的畫面真正產生恐慌和不適的情緒,因為一切都已被修剪得恰當而體面,像和佳肴一起呈上桌面的拌菜。「星空」旨在探討新聞圖像在泛媒介中的真實性和意識形態在背後的作用。藝術家通過收集夜間軍事打擊中各種導彈發射和爆炸的原始圖片,再經過圖像的後期製作,刪減讓人產生緊張不安的現場細節,使畫面顯示出一種悖論式的寧靜和諧。

The real war is bloody violence and cruel uneasiness. But the war image under the lens of daily news just become gossip talk after meal and the additional knowledge supplement about the world. No one will really panic and discomfort about this type of picture.Because they have been trimmed properly and decently and served on the table with other dishes. "Star" aims to explore the authenticity of news image in the social-media and ideology behind the role. I collected a series of the original image from nightly military strike in a variety of missile launch and explosion. after post-production process, delete those on-site details which potentially create nervous for people, so that the screen shows a paradoxical peace and harmony.

邱經緯
邱經緯1984年3月生於中國廣州,現生活工作於美國舊金山。
邱經緯是一個善用科技多媒體創作的藝術家。他感興趣的是現代科學技術更替和網路化下呈現的社會學現象,以及因此而產生的哲學問題。他通過使用雕塑,繪畫,攝影和多媒體視頻來調查我們的意識形態是如何被大眾媒體和數字社會所塑造的。同樣,他也致力於研究探討人們對當下生活的理解是如何被「超真實」這一看不見的機制系統所影響的。
Jingwei Qiuis a multi-media artist and currently based in San Francisco US He is interested in different kind of philosophical implications and phenomenology under the fast change of technology and network system. Through using sculpture painting photography and video, he investigates how our ideology are reshaped by mass media and digital society , also how the hyperreality influences our understanding and interpretation of contemporary life.
