Wilt Chamberlain on 2/2/1968 had the only ever official Double-Triple-Double (20+/20+/20+) in NBA history. In 33 games to close the "68 season he had multiple INSANE triple double records in there: (self.nba)

· Only official 20/20/20 game in NBA history (Wilt may have had 2 more unofficially with blocks earlier in his career)

· Just missed a second official 20/20/20 game by 1 assist!

· Chamberlain"s 21 assists (for his 22pt, 25reb, 21 assist game) is still the 76ers record for assists

Triple Double average by comfortable margin, 21 out of the 33 games were triple-doubles

Yeah. Even now, re-watching Kobe"s 81 already blows my mind so Wilt"s 100 would probably be more insane (although I imagine it would be more banging and less finesse due to play styles/positions).

It"s been contested, it was widely believed up until a few years ago, since then some claim it"s just a myth.

Whether it"s true or a myth, Wilt himself said they ended the game with 46 seconds left.

I think it"s a good thing we don"t have video of Wilt"s 100 point game. By all accounts, the 4th quarter was a clusterfuck of non-stop fouling from both teams. The Knicks were fouling players other than Wilt so that he couldn"t score. Philly was fouling so they could get the ball back as soon as possible to give Wilt more opportunities to score. This game has a mystique and allure to it that would be lost if we were able to see what actually happened. I

I"ve counted 3 total given the limited number of shot block data that exists so far. Two of them were in the Playoffs the season prior. One vs Bill Russell"s Celtics and the other vs Nate Thurmond"s Warriors in the NBA Finals en route to Chamberlain"s first NBA championship.

Yeah, probably the greatest athlete in NBA history. It"s really him, Shaq, Lebron, maybe magic (simply because of size and skill set). Simmons had Arnold on a podcast a while back and Arnold said wilt was one of the strongest people he ever lifted with, benching something like 400 pounds.

There are so many astonishing stories about Wilts strength and athleticism. He won the Big 8 high jump without any practice- he literally went to the track and field coach and said I want to compete, I think I can do it. I think he did fairly well in the 400m aswell. He also blocked a Gus Johnson dunk and Gus ended up with a dislocated shoulder.

When he was doing the Conan movie with Arnold and Andre the Giant, he and Andre would take turns lifting Arnold to see who could make it look the easiest.

The best way to see how good of a player somebody is to see how many times there were rule changes to prevent them from being so dominant- Wilt had the lane widened, the free throw rules changed, offensive goaltending became a thing, and he had some inbounding rules changed too
