We are delighted to invite you to submit a proposal for the fourth edition of PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai; Asia-Pacific s leading international art fair dedicated to photography.

Since launching in 2014, PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai has quickly established itself as mainland China』s leading international art fair dedicated to photography and is already shaping the market for photography collecting in China and across the Asia-Pacific. It is today a key date in the art fair calendar for those wishing to establish and extend their network across Asia.

The 2016 edition of PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai brought together 50 galleries from 15 countries and 24 cities, making it the most international edition to date.

Galleries across the board witnessed strong sales with works selling from $1000-120,000.To facilitate their participation at PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai, each gallery is provided with a dedicated Chinese/English translator as part of their standard booth package.

Taking Part in PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai

Applications for the three main sectors of PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai are now open; Main, Connected and Platform. Rates are dependent on the sector the gallery is applying to. The deadline to submit applications to PHOTOFAIRS | Shanghai is 6 April 2017.

Main

Features elegant presentations of modern and contemporary photography presented by leading international galleries. This sector is open to galleries who show an international program of artists.

Platform

Spotlights international galleries who have never exhibited in mainland China before. This sector celebrates the international ethos of PHOTOFAIRS. Platform offers a set per sqm rate of 3225HKD. Please note that galleries must not have exhibited in a China-based art fair before.

Connected

Focuses on artists who breakdown the barrier between the artistic disciplines of photography and moving image, in order to create visually powerful narratives. The final proposal must contain moving image works. These works must take the form of single-channel video, single channel projection, video sculpture or other larger video installations.
