That help defense is definitely what made his game jump to the next level though..being able to alter more shots and deflect with his mobility and length, and to rotate when needed and protect the rim in general. He hadn"t played like that before and Bill complimented him on it, and Durant was dismissive and was like "nah I"ve played like that for years"

Besides obviously being 7 feet tall, I wonder if people having to match the small ball with small ball makes him a lot better at rim protection as opposed to what we might see from traditional lineups.

Man honestly its just because he is on the Warriors now. I remember in 2014 when people were saying he was MVP the comeback was that he was only good on offence and wasnt half the defender LeBron was. Now hes on the Dubs and suddenly hes great at defence? People just werent giving the recognition he deserved.

Well it was more about the loss of Bogut and some of the bench players. But they kept the best bench defenders, and added David West, McGee and Zaza for essentially nothing. I don"t think anyone smart thought that KD would be a defensive downgrade from Barnes.

Bogut was definitely a force in his smallish role. He led the league in DRPM last year and was 2nd to Draymond in 2015. So that was a legitimate concern. And for what it"s worth, their team defensive efficiency was higher in "15 than it is now.

Honestly they could very well be. Dray is well known for his reputation as an amazing lock-down defender (and donkey), and KD is a phenomenal defender as well. KD has all the physical tools you could ask for on the defensive end, and uses his BBIQ in great ways.

Kawhi and Danny Green are up there for best duo, but they aren"t big men, so they will have less of an overall impact. Best wing defender duo in the league for sure.

I think KD and Dray are, but its crazy no one has even mentioned Millsap and Howard. Millsap is having an incredible year defensively, and Dwight is still an excellent rim protector. Both could make All-D teams (Millsap should for sure).
