MoMA50年後再度回訪「新文件」展覽，討論其對現代攝影的深遠影響

1967年的展覽《新文件》（New Documents）展出了三位當時年輕和相對不知名的攝影師的作品，分別是黛安·阿布斯（Diane Arbu）、李·佛瑞蘭德（Lee Friedlander）和蓋瑞·溫諾格蘭德（Garry Winogrand），展覽規雖小，對現代攝影卻有著深遠的影響。

策展人John Szarkowski在展覽的介紹中解釋道，這三個人是新一代攝影師的代表，他們與1930和40年代的前輩以激勵、勸告為目的的作品明顯不同：他們「將紀錄片攝影的技術和審美轉而為自己所用，他們的目的不是改變生活，而是去認識它。」這場展覽將這三位攝影師確立為美國藝術的重要聲音，他們的成就繼續鼓勵我們對攝影這個媒介進行更深入研究。

Taking place on the 50th anniversary (to the day) of the opening reception for MoMA』s 1967 New Documents exhibition, New Documents: Fifty Years Later brings together three key figures who visited the landmark photography exhibition in 1967 and whose critical reflections have shaped our understanding of its legacy. The exhibition, organized by John Szarkowski, then director of MoMA』s Department of Photography, featured Diane Arbus, Lee Friedlander, and Garry Winogrand, singularly important artists of the 20th century who were largely unknown at the time. In celebration of this anniversary the Museum is publishing Arbus, Friedlander Winogrand: New Documents, 1967, featuring new essays by curator Sarah Meister and critic Max Kozloff, and an abundance of previously unpublished archival material.

Sarah Meister, Curator, Department of Photography, MoMA, will frame the evening with an introduction that draws from her extensive research for the book Arbus Friedlander Winogrand: New Documents, 1967. This will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by art historian Rob Slifkin and featuring artists Max Kozloff, Tod Papageorge, and Martha Rosler, all of whom have written persuasively on related subjects.

Arbus Friedlander Winogrand: New Documents, 1967 will be available for purchase at the reception following the discussion.
