美球迷熱議巔峰麥迪和哈登誰強？魔術麥>哈登？

Who was better? Peak Tracy McGrady or current James Harden? (self.nba)

誰更強？巔峰麥迪還是現在的哈登？

I wasn"t old enough to watch peak early 2000"s TMac. I know they are very different players in terms of scoring or playmaking abilities, but I"ve been wondering about their legacy in Houston.

I would take T-mac if i had a team like utah/atlanta/boston where all i need is that guy to take over when it gets tough and need a bucket, cause that guy made scoring look easier than i"ve ever seen

But if i wanna make a bad team into a respectable team, i"d go harden, he"s more valuable

Houston T-Mac was never really an MVP contender and didn"t even get to the 2nd round of the playoffs. I think Harden has Houston T-Mac beat.

Peak McGrady was an unstoppable scorer, more so than even harden, but harden is better at being the engine of an offense, if that makes sense. You don"t really need an offensive scheme with harden to have a top offense (similar to lebron and a couple other players).

Orlando T-Mac was insane. People hold it against him that he couldn"t get out of the first round, but he had ZERO help at the time. Over the hill Shawn Kemp, rookie Gooden, Pat Garrity, and an injured Grant Hill were an awful supporting cast. Harden is on track to accomplish more, but at their peaks I"m taking T-Mac as of now.

I think McGrady in that one season in Orlando is better than current Harden. He wasnt the offensive system Harden is, but he also played clearly better defense, didn"t turn the ball over that much and its not like McGrady wasnt a good passer too.

I wont get on anyones shit for disagreeing though.

Peak TMac wasn"t in Houston though. He was in Orlando. I"d definitely take Orlando TMac over Harden.

Orlando T-Mac was something fucking special. Put prime T-Mac in a D"antoni system and his numbers would be HUGE. This coming from a huge Harden fan too, no hating.

That"s actually not even true. Tmac just had shit teammates minus Yao. If you asked Tmac to play PG in D"Antoni"s system he would have been fine.

Kendall Marshall averaged 8.8 assists per game under D"Antoni. I think his system will boost almost any ball-handler"s numbers.

T-Mac was still a pretty good passer though. He averaged over 5 apg for several seasons as a SG. He averaged 6.5 apg at age 27. You"re telling me playing him as a full-time ball-handler under D"Antoni, that he wouldn"t get a significant boost? I really doubt that.

Also Kobe averaged a career high in apg and assists/36 under D"Antoni at age 34.

McGrady in his prime was better than Harden as a SG in previous seasons, but Harden"s game improved a lot as a PG, so it"s hard to answer.

Harden makes teammates better and wins more.

Peak T-Mac was a monster. Bigger, more athletic and more potent than Harden. He was as good or maybe better than Kobe at one point.

Harden has a different game that is interesting and effective in its own way. But T-Mac was a much more spectacular player at his peak.

T-Mac at his prime, particularly Orlando, was insane. If Hill wasn"t injured, that team would have brought home at least one championship.

McGrady also played defense. So, I give him my vote.

Harden is great though.

Mcgrady but If I would pick one to start a franchise, it"d be Harden.
