Microsoft 高層稱 iPad Pro 是抄襲 Surface
由 Apple帶來的新版iPad Pro現在已經可以要 Apple Store 選購，換來了 10.5″ 的新屏幕，並支援 Apple Pencil 及 Smart Keyboard。不過那邊廂一位Microsoft的高層 Ryan Gavin 表示，如果沒有Surface Pro，Apple 也不會有 iPad Pro 的出現，完全是一個顯而易見的例子是跟隨 Microsoft 推出 2 合 1 的電子產品。儘管 iPad Pro 看起來是十分吸引，不止是普通 iPad 的革命性升級，更帶來 Apple Pencil，Smart Keyboard，立體聲揚聲器及新尺寸顯示屏的改進。但 Microsoft 卻聲稱若不是 Apple 留意到 Surface Pro，那麼也沒有這些新想法。而 Gavin 更補充：
We have been learning and perfecting our products in the 2-in-1 category for years now, [but] when Surface initially launched everyone was skeptical, including [Apple]. Also we don』t really look at Apple.」 If it did, fans would not have devices like the Surface Pro and the Surface Book, which both feature detachable displays that can be used as tablets.
不過 Apple 的優勢反而是 MacBook 比 iPad 的高，縱使有 iPad Pro，但它並不是運行像 Surface 一樣的真正桌面系統。Cult of Mac 亦認為 iPad Pro 其實沒有借鏡 Surface，畢竟這個概念很容易便想到，加上兩者的營銷方式都相同，便是以平板電腦去替代各位的手提電腦，只是 Surface 配置 Windows 10 系統及有著觸控板及 USB 等連接，或者未來 Apple 便會有新的改進。
