Despite the outcome, the 2015-2016 season was fucking magical. Healthy Steph during that regular season was unlike anything I"ve ever seen, and I don"t know if we"ll ever see that level of what-the-fuckery again.

It was such a magical season. I know my wife and I will always hold it as our favorite sports season of all time, even if they lost the finals.

Catching the final game of the regular season at a rando sushi restaurant and having the whole place go nuts when Steph broke the 3s record. Being on the BART and having random people yell out the score and feeling the excitement on the whole train. Making friends and conversation with total strangers that would never have happened if it wasn"t for the Dubs.

This past season was great and I imagine next season will be better than last, but nothing will top 2015-2016.

Steph hitting that ridiculous OT game winner in OKC was one of the most exciting things I"ve ever seen. Everyone in my house was screaming. There was so much context because the record breaking season was on the line, every win mattered.

The Warriors are exciting, I just wish they were involved in more exciting games. Through the playoffs, outside of going against LeBron and 1 half of game 1 against SA it felt like watching a Warriors practice. Even against those guys though we all pretty much knew the outcome.

I hope we get more games like that this year with OKC and HOU looking improved. But deep down I just feel like even if Melo goes to HOU the Warriors are a league above the rest and it isn"t really close.

Not sure what teams can do either to match, it took a perfect storm to put together their current team. Only thing would be if LeBron took a pay cut during FA next season.

I feel like there will be a shocker this year. The Warriors are fantastic and amazingly good, but they"re not unbeatable, even if they"re reealllly tough to beat. I think Houston with Melo, the Spurs, OKC, and maybe even the wolves give them a little bit of trouble or a lot.

If they play to their average and their opponent plays to their average, GSW wins. If both play to their max, GSW wins. It would take GSW strongly underachieving and their opponents strongly overachieving for anyone to have a real chance of betting them in a series. Something like this might happen next year, but it really shouldnt. Any team with that talent level has no business losing.

Their series" last year were kind of like Team USA in the Olympics. If you tune the crowd noise and media hyping down a bit the games feel similar. It"s not that extreme yet, but still so boring when you know who is going to win.

It"s basketball so anything can and should happen. I hate the forgone conclusions of this sub. The West is becoming a murderers row. Yeah we have a clear advantage, but the room for error can be razor-thin if injuries come into play.

A healthy Spurs doesn"t get swept... maybe even goes up 2-0 on us. Rockets and OKC are a new kind of threat. Talking like the ring is already in the bag is a load of horseshit.

Exactly. Especially with height being so important there"s a limitation on how much NBA talent is out there. Coaching can always improve but you aren"t going to find more mobile 7 footers with guard skills just because you need to catch up to some other team.

A lot of the movement has been from the middle to upper class, not from the bottom to the middle. In that regard at least the redistribution of talent is creating more contenders and not just more mediocre teams.

Shout out to the GMs of the west tho for real. The media tried to put a hex on the league because of the warriors and they were all like "nah fuck that were not going down like bitches". Just goes to show how much more competitive NBA people are compared to us observers.

Exactly. Major kudos to the GMs of HOU, MIN, and OKC. The LAL are getting ready for some big moves the next couple of years. The NBA is full of high paid, intelligent, and competitive people. They know full well they need to be ready when there is a slight opening of opportunity.
