《當你老了》是威廉·巴特勒·葉芝（William Butler Yeats, 1865-1939）於1893年創作的一首詩歌，是他獻給女演員茅德·岡（Maud Gonne, 1866-1953）熱烈而真摯的愛情詩篇。
葉芝是愛爾蘭詩人、劇作家，神秘主義者。他是愛爾蘭凱爾特復興運動的領袖，也是艾比劇院的創建者之一，曾於1923年獲得諾貝爾文學獎。
1889年1月30日，23歲的葉芝第一次遇見了美麗的女演員茅德·岡。她時年22歲，是一位駐愛爾蘭英軍上校的女兒。在父親去世後，她繼承了一大筆遺產。茅德·岡不僅美麗而且勇敢，當她感受到愛爾蘭人民受到英裔欺壓的悲慘狀況後，便同情愛爾蘭人民，毅然放棄了愛爾蘭上流社會的生活而投身到爭取愛爾蘭民族獨立的運動中，並且成為領導人之一。

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim Soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
