英語中各種有趣的idiom 表達

總是讓人驚喜連連。

今天來學習三個和腳有關的idiom。

1. Put one s foot in one s mouth

（ put one s foot in it; stick one s foot in one s mouth）

你以為它是這樣的 （如上圖）

其實它是這樣的：

to say something that you regret; to say something stupid, insulting, or hurtful.

e.g. When I told Ann that her hair was more beautiful than I had ever seen it, I really put my foot in my mouth. It was a wig.

2. Put one s foot down

表示立場十分堅定，whatever you say, I』m not going to change my mind.

e.g. Mom put her foot down and said we could not go to the carnival.

3. sweep one off one』s feet

（knock one off one s feet）

完美的體現了你在第一次見到你的男神or女神時，神魂顛倒，花枝亂顫的感受。

e.g. Mary is madly in love with Bill. He swept her off her feet.

當然還可以形容一個讓你欣喜若狂的消息。

e.g. The news was so exciting that it knocked me off my feet.
