Is it really that obvious? Maybe because im from NY but it felt like his run here was more significant for his legacy than his Cleveland run. Obviously hes part of a historic championship team but I feel like everything hes known for is because of what he did in NY

Amare was the runner up to Josh Smith with that sick header oop from Nash, JR Smith had a behind the back dunk that was pretty filthy. That was the year Birdman made a mockery of the contest though, so it was a pretty forgettable one.

I agree with you. People don"t even remember Rik Smits or Tom Chambers, who were really good players. Nobody ever talks about Rip Hamilton or Mike Bibby, who were actual stars.

I don"t know man, people can"t remember every single player in the league and humanity has a short attention span. Horace Grant was a great player for the first 3-peat Bulls and played on some good Orlando teams in the mid 90s but I bet 95% of basketball fans couldn"t tell you who he was. If Steve Kerr hadn"t started commentating/coaching, he would have been a footnote as well.

JR Smith will be the role player that makes a 3 every now and then when they make a 30 for 30 about the Cavs. The narrative about Cleveland will be rebuilding post-LeBron, LeBron"s return to Cleveland, and his and Kyrie"s falling out. Cleveland fans and diehards will remember him, but he"s not exactly an integral part of NBA history.
