中英文里竟然有這麼多神相似的表達！

1. Blood is thicker than water.Family relationships are stronger than any others.

中文裡的「血濃於水」，這算是完全直譯嘍。

2. Be able to do something in your sleepTo be able to do something very easily because you have done it many times before.

中文裡可以對應「我閉著眼睛也能…」。

█例如：

I haven t done many portraits, but I could paint landscapes in my sleep.

我畫的肖像畫不多，但是我閉著眼也能畫風景。

3. Have money to burnTo have so much money that you do not have to be careful with it.

我們說「燒錢」，英文里也用了burn哦。「錢多到拿錢點煙」，這麼記就記住了。還記得之前說過的「花錢如流水」不？對了，就是spend money like water.

4. keep somebody at arm s lengthTo avoid having a close relationship with somebody.

中文裡咱們有「保持一臂距離」對吧，這麼記就特別好記。

█例如：

He keeps all his clients at arm s length.

他和所有的客戶都保持距離。

5. (in) black and white

█In a way that makes people or things seem completely bad or good, or completely right or wrong.

我們在評論是非對錯的時候，可能會聽到有人說「不分黑白」。英文里也用黑和白來指絕對的好和壞，對和錯。例如：

It s a complex issue, but he only sees it in black and white.

這是個很複雜的問題，但是他只是非黑即白地來看它。

█In writing or in print

中文裡，尤其是在電視劇里，每次遇到「簽字畫押」情節，總能聽到「白紙黑字」是不？英文里也有對應的含義。例如：

I never thought they d put it in black and white on the front page.

我沒想到他們會把這白紙黑字地印在頭版上。

6. Shut / close your eyes to something

To pretend that you have not noticed something so that you do not have to deal with it

中文裡咱們說「對……視而不見」，差不多就是這個意思。

█例如：

You can t just close your eyes to his violence.

你不能對他的暴力行為視而不見。

They seem intent on shutting their eyes to the problems of pollution.

他們似乎打算對污染問題視而不見。

7. Shut/ slam the door in somebody s face

█to shut a door hard when somebody is trying to come in

█to refuse to talk to somebody or meet them, in a rude way

這個表達有兩個意思，除了字面意思外，另一個就跟我們的「拒之門外」很像了。

8. Two heads are better than one.

Used to say that two people can achieve more than one person working alone.

「三個臭皮匠賽過諸葛亮」，或者「人多力量大」，可以這麼理解。

9. Rack your brain(s)

To think very hard or for a long time about something.

「絞盡腦汁」就翻譯成這個。

█例如：

She racked her brains, trying to remember exactly what she had said.

她絞盡腦汁想回憶起她到底說了什麼。

10. Take the weight off your feet

To sit down and rest, especially when you are tired

我們的「歇歇腳」，以後用英文就這麼說。

11. Be engraved on/ in your heart, memory, mind, etc.

To be something that you will never forget because it affected you so strongly.

深深地印在心裡或者記憶力。

█例如：

The date of the accident remains engraved on my mind.

事情發生的那個日子已銘記在我心上。
