虛擬語氣(二)

定義：虛擬語氣是一種動詞形式,表示說話人認為他所說的話是和事實相反的主觀設想或主觀願望、假設、懷疑、猜測、建議等含義,虛擬語氣所表示的含義不是客觀存在的事實。

一、.as if / though引導的從句中

1.表示與現在事實相反

動詞的過去式（be動詞常用were）

She speaks English very fluently as if /though she were born in England.

2.表示與將來事實相反

would / could / might +動詞原形

It seemed as if the meeting would never end.

3.表示與過去事實相反

had +動詞-ed形式

Henry talks as if he had been abroad.

二、.would rather後的從句中

1.表示與現在事實相反

動詞的過去式（be動詞常用were）

Bob would rather his girlfriend workedin the same department as he does.

2.表示與過去事實相反

had +動詞-ed形式

I would rather you hadn t told Mike the news that day.

三、在if only開頭的簡單句中(if only:只要，要是……多好)

1.表示與現在事實相反

動詞的過去式（be動詞常用were）

If only I were better looking.

2.表示與將來事實相反

would / could / might +動詞原形

If only it would stop raining!

3.表示與過去事實相反

had +動詞-ed形式

If only I had listened to my parents!

四.表示「建議、命令、要求」等的動詞後的賓語從句中

suggest, demand, command, request, require, insist, desire, urge, order,recommend等後的賓語從句中（should +）動詞原形

Lucy suggested that the class meeting (should) not be held on Saturday.

The situation required that he be present.

五、5.表示「建議、命令、要求」等的名詞後的表語從句或同位語中suggestion, order, proposal, request等後的表語從句或同位語中。（should +）動詞原形

She left her address with a request that any mail (should) be sent on toher.

六.It is (high) time後的從句中

在It is (high)time後的從句中，謂語動詞常用過去或「（should +）動詞原形」表示虛擬。如：

It is high time you made / (should) make up your mind.

7.在It is necessary / important / essential / natural / strange / ...that ...與It is requested / suggested / desired / proposed / ... that ...結構中

在以上結構中，that從句中的謂語動詞用「（should +）動詞原形」表示虛擬。如：

It is necessary that we (should) sort out the useful information.

It is proposed that this question(should) be discussed at the next meeting.
