1.美的標準隨著時代和文化群體的不同而變化。

2.傳統和時尚如同社會本身，是變化的，是適應時代的。因此我們對美的認識會變化也是理所當然的。

Traditions and fashions, like society itself, change and adapt with time, soit is reasonable thatour ideas of beauty changeas well.

3.在當代社會，文化仍然是決定我們審美觀的重要因素。

In contemporary society, cultureremains a major partin determining our ideas of beauty.

4.而在其他文化中，女人根本不想在未來丈夫的眼中顯得苗條。相反，看起來稍微超重被認為是更加迷人。

In other cultures, looking thin for a husband-to-be is notwhat a woman desires at all---rather, looking a little overweightis considered more attractive.

5.受歷史、社會和文化的影響，沒有精確的衡量標準用來判斷什麼是美。

With the influence ofhistory, society and culture,there are no precise criteriawhich can be used to judge what is beautiful.

6.外在美一定要靠一個人的內在魅力來強化。這種特殊的魅力存在於不同的人格個性特徵中，例如，仁慈、熱心、健康的良知等。判斷一個人的內在美是否有感染力是很主觀的，不像隨意一瞥就能欣賞到那樣容易，也遠比外在美重要得多。

Physical beauty must alsobe accompanied byan attraction to something deeper within a person. This particular kind of attraction is found ina wide range ofpersonal qualities, e.g.kindness, warmth, a healthy conscience, etc. judging theappealof a person』s inner beauty is much moresubjective.It takes more than a casual glance toappreciate and it is much more important than physical beauty.

7.受文化、生物特性和歷史時期的影響，我們能夠快速地、輕而易舉地判定外在的美。但是，內在美才是我們真正要看到的東西。

Weare influenced byour culture, our biology and our time in history to notice physical beauty quickly and easily, butit isinner beautythatrequires us to truly see.
