Does anybody really want to see GSW-CLE in the nba finals for the 4th year in a row?
真的有人願意看騎勇總決賽四番戰嗎？
Besides fans of their respective fan bases of course, it is hard to get excited for another one of these matchups. It feels like everything has already been played out between these two, from the 3-1 comeback to Durant joining and winning a title. Almost any other matchup would be more interesting IMO.
除了這兩個球隊的擁躉，其他的球迷對再一次騎勇對決已經很難再興奮起來了。從3-1的歷史性逆轉到杜蘭特的強勢加盟並且奪得 了總決賽MVP頭銜，感覺這兩支球隊已經把所有可能的劇情都演繹過一遍了。在我看來， 換成幾乎任何其他球隊的對決，都更有趣些。

Yeah, the hardcore fans (which is most of the people that post and vote here) are going to watch the Finals regardless of who"s playing.
The networks will get more casual viewers for GSW vs CLE than any other potential matchup. Those people only tune in for a few games a year and they"re drawn in by hype (Lebron, Curry, KD, 4x rematch). They never got tired of BOS vs LAL and it will be no different if it happens with GSW vs CLE.

Exactly this, and I don"t know why more people on /r/nba don"t get this simple fact. Last year"s finals were the highest rated since 1998, which was MJ"s last title. Cavs-Warriors is deeply interesting to the casual fan, who doesn"t watch more than a handful of games a year. People on /r/nba think their opinion is indicative of what fans "want", but its not. /r/nba is populated by hardcore basketball fans, people who watch dozens upon dozens of games every week.

We visited family on Christmas day in 2016, and everyone in my family was glued to the tv for Cavs-Warriors. I"m the only hoops junkie in my family; I watch more games in a week than all the rest of them will in a year, put together. However, Cavs-Warriors draws the eye-balls of normies. It wasn"t /r/nba that made Cavs-Warriors III the highest rated finals since MJ"s last run, it was casual fans who want to watch the spectacle and to watch a cultural touchstone.

Everyone knows the plot, and for people on /r/nba, its like watching another Transformers movie: it will be exactly the same as the last 5 Transformers movies, but for casual fan, or fans who only watch a handful of games a year, its different. The sheer drama of Cavs-Warriors every single June has been a bulwark that draws in people who never watch the NBA, a big part of the league"s ratings spike in the first half of this season is having a hegemonic match-up in the finals; Cavs-Warriors has been a gateway drug to watching more NBA games, just like Celtics-Lakers was once upon a time. /r/nba doesn"t have to like it, but /r/nba should accept the reality.

LeBron, KD & Curry are arguably the top 3 players in the NBA.
LeBron is looking to make his 8th straight Finals & add to his legacy. Curry & Durant are trying to create a dynasty.
I think it"s a good matchup, but hopefully the playoffs are more competitive than last season.

It』s hard to blame Durant though. He only had Russell Westbrook and pretty much nobody else on that team, it was awful. How are you supposed to win a title with just Westbrook? Westbrook and Serge Ibaka and that』s pretty much it. You can』t win a title with three dudes. It was just him, Westbrook, Serge, and then I guess Steven Adams too. You can』t win a title with those cats, you just can』t. Not with just him, Westbrook, Serge, and Steven Adams. You need a bench, all they had coming off the bench was Dion Waiters, and he』s good I guess, but apart from that it was just Enes Kanter and he』s good too, but that』s it. Durant and Westbrook has to carry those teams, their only help was Serge Ibaka, Steven Adams, Enes Kanter, and Dion Waiters coming off the bench. That』s it! It was just him and Westbrook pretty much, and then all those other guys, but then that was it.

While I don"t really blame KD for leaving let"s not forget how close OKC was to beating the Warriors and then Klay went God mode. They probably would have had a pretty good chance vs the Cavs too since Warriors had the momentum up until Bogut got injured and Draymond got suspended.

I doubt Warriors sweep the entire run but I"d be surprised if they lose more than 2. 16-4 if they play awful for a few consecutive quarters somewhere/someone gets hurt.

If you think Rockets/OKC/Spurs can』t take a game from them you』re wrong. The talent on those teams is high enough that if they have a good night and GS doesn』t they can win a game
To think GS is so much better than these 3 teams that they can』t pull out a single game is crazy. Does this mean GS will ever be in threat of losing a series? Nope. They』re going to the finals and it won』t be close. But to think it』s already set they go 12-0 is ludicrous.

Spurs are coached well enough to take 1. Rockets have the pure talent to maybe take 1. I wouldn"t be shocked by 16-0 but I think they lose a couple.
