谷歌有一款應用，叫Google Arts & Culture。該應用的設計出發點是要激活世界上各個博物館裡陳列的藝術作品——目前已與70多個國家的1200個博物館合作，把這些藝術作品，搬到虛擬世界。大概在1個月前，Google Arts & Culture推出了一項新的功能，一時引起熱議。該功能利用面部識別軟體，用戶上傳自拍即可找到自己在藝術品里的雙胞胎（art twin）。但是在隱私問題被提出之後，谷歌發表了相關聲明，表明照片只會用來和藝術品做匹配，不會另作他用。隨後因相關政策，在德州和伊利諾伊州封閉了這款應用。當下各種應用層出不窮，隱私問題也隨之引起人們的關注。享受便捷服務的同時，隱私也在不斷泄露。

Google estimates that 30m selfies have beenuploaded to what became last weekend"s most downloaded app.

Not everyone is pleased.

Google issued a statement clarifying thatthe pictures were used only for art matches, after privacy concerns wereraised.

It blocked the selfie tool in Texas andIllinois, where state laws prohibit the collection of biometric data.
