La Tour Eiffel 埃菲爾鐵塔

The Eiffel Tower was built for the International Exhibition of Paris of 1889 commemorating the centenary of the French Revolution.

The Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII of England, opened the tower.

Of the 700 proposals submitted in a design competition, Gustave Eiffel"s was unanimously chosen.At 300 metres (320.75m including antenna), and 7000 tons, it was the world"s

tallest building until 1930.

凱旋門Arcdetriomphedel"étoile

The Arc de Triomphe is a monument in Paris that stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle， formerly the Place de l『étoile， at the western end of the Champs－élysées。 The arch honours those who fought for France， particularly during the Napoleonic Wars， and today also includes the tomb of the unknown soldier.

The creation of the great castle was due to Louis ⅩⅣ who abandoned the Louvre to build a royal palace. In 1789 the royal family finally returned to Paris. In 1837, Louis-Philippe decided to convert it as the museum of French History. Nowadays, the castle has been restored to be as beautiful as in the past.
