—the power of design—

LABB – Loopless and Buckleless Band – is an injection-moulded strap for the new generation of smart watches. Its design is based on an innovative, self-gripping fixing system in which the two halves of the strap intuitively connect along their entire surface, negating the need for additional buckles and loops.

LABB re-thinks a long-established typology to provide a new, simple and engaging approach to functionality for future generations of smart products.

My role - As an Industrial Designer, I was responsible to understand the trends, market opportunities, competitor products / current market solutions as a part of research and strategy. I worked closely with the Client. The Project was headed by the Founder/ Director of LAYER and extremely talented, Benjamin Hubert.

We as a team brainstormed and came up with the unique locking mechanism.

I was responsible for Ideation / concept generation / cad development / cmf / production cad data delivery / packaging / graphic design.

The straps were initially designed for apple watches and later developed to adapt to regular watches.
