Finding Love
In the early days, young people were accompanied by parents or relatives in the streets in hopes of finding love. Matchmaker acted busily in hopes of pairing couples. At that time, the brightest lanterns were symbolic of hope and good fortune. Today, the Lantern Festival is still commercialized as the Chinese equivalent of Valentine』s Day in Hong kong, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

Tang yuan
Tangyuan is a glutinous rice ball typically filled with sweet red bean paste, sesame paste, or peanut butter(sometimes mix with lard). The Chinees people believe the round shape of the balls, and the bowls in which they are served symbolize family togetherness, and that eating tangyuan may bring family happiness and good luck in the new year.
