Everyone is different but I would suspect more people respond to positive reinforcement than negative... certainly not everyone, though.

I think Kobe did have positive reinforcement but only when people 『deserved』 it. I agree it』s not for everyone though. It can be helpful to hear encouraging words when you mess up

Kobe may be intense, but other than Smush Parker it doesn"t seem like there was a whole lot of people he played with or against that legitimately didn"t like him. Most are like Clarkson and realize he was hard on them for a reason.

Someone post that clip of the Lakers running a pick up game in practice where Kobe is absolutely tearing into J-Lin verbally. It』s almost hard to watch because Lin and everybody else in the gym just stay silent the entire time taking it. Clarkson is in that clip too, I』m sure that memory sticks with him.

He averaged 1.3 just more FGA, 0.2 less FTA per 100, and 2.8 less assists per 100 in his career than LeBron"s career currently.

Kobe"s assists per 100 of 6.7 is pretty much MJ level (7.0). Of the 29 players in the NBA to ever play at least 40k minutes, Kobe is 9th, so he"s definitely in the top third of "assisters."

Yeah it"s always been a lazy narrative. Kobe passes plenty, he just doesn"t as much in crunch time so people who only watch highlights don"t realize he assists a lot throughout the game. Shaq says it all the time, Kobe fed him early and got the guys going then he closed the games out.

I loved the bit in Phil jackson"s book about having to ask Kobe to occasionally talk to his teammates off the court. lol. Kobe didn"t even eat with the team or congregate with anyone when they were on the road. I"m not sure that style would fly in 2018.
