喬布斯你記錯了喂
「When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960s, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors and Polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: It was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.
Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course,they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath itwerethe words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish."It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.
Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.」

以上文字說「Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish」是出自《The Whole Earth Catalog》1970年出版的最後一刊背面。
幾年前看了這篇演講之後就非常想看看《The Whole Earth Catalog》講的什麼內容。特別是喬布斯提到的那最後一刊。
為了找到那一刊背面印有「Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish」的《The Whole Earth Catalog》，花了一點精力，因為喬布斯記錯了雜誌的準確名字和發行日期。
第一刊於1968年秋天發行，截止1970年，一共發行了12刊。但是1970年，也就是喬布斯所說的最後一刊的發行時間並不正確，最後一刊是在1971年6月發行的
《The Last Whole Earth Catalog》。刊物標題中還特別加了一個last。
其實按照主編不變，風格不變，雜誌標題不變的原則來說的話。最後一刊也不是1971年6月那一本。而是要推遲到1980年九月。
1970年後還陸續出版了：
1974年5月的《The Updated Last Whole Earth Catalog》
1974年10月的《Whole Earth Epilog》
1980年9月的《The Next Whole Earth Catalog 》
甚至到2003年都有名為《Whole Earth》的系列期刊陸續出版。
嚴格來說，最後一刊應該就是1971年6月那一本《The Last Whole Earth Catalog》。為了確認，無酋長還搜索了一下「Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish」是不是出自1971年那一版。(下圖得到的肯定答案就是1971年那一本)
1971年就出版了3本，那幾乎肯定就是中間那本了。（下圖）
在無酋長收到1971年6月刊印的《The Last Whole Earth Catalog》之後，傻眼了，說好的「Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish」呢？！
好，再查。
維基百科上關於「Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish」的出處是這樣說的：

再查。有人還說是1969年那本，並且上了這樣混淆視聽的圖片。（下圖）

網上眾說紛紜，沒一個可以給出鐵證的回答。
好吧，排除法一個一個來。 從1968年到1980一共16本，把封面和背面一起拍的照片找到排除之後，剩下三個選擇。分別是1969年秋天那本（也就是上面的圖），無酋長已經有的1971年6月刊印的《The Last Whole Earth Catalog》，和1974年10月的《Whole Earth Epilog》。
好在官網上有每一刊的電子文檔售賣，下載了1974年10月的《Whole Earth Epilog》和1969年秋天的《Whole Earth Catalog》。答案揭曉。

所以，「Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.」是出自1974年10月刊的《Whole Earth Epilog》。
