Jim White, an irritable football coach, loses his job and moves with his family to take a new job at McFarland High School in McFarland, California.

脾氣暴躁的吉姆.懷特是一個足球教練，他丟失了在大城市工作的機會，不得不舉家搬遷到加州麥克法蘭高中任教。

The town is predominantly Latino, it』s extremely poor and unsafe, the prison is opposite the school, the students work in the field every day with no dream.

當地的居民多為南美裔，窮困無比，治安混亂，學校的對面就是監獄，學生日日勞作，沒有夢想。

To get back to big city for better life, White discovers that some of his students are strong runners, he organizes a boys" cross country team with seven members who have little hope for their future.

為了改變生活的困境重回大城市，懷特發掘了孩子們的跑步潛能，把7個對未來不報希望的孩子組建成了一支越野隊。

Overcomes the students and parents』 doubt, he makes the seven become a close-knit, mutually supportive unit. Under White"s guidance the team becomes outstandingly successful and keeps winning. This brings hope and inspires the American Dream to the whole town.

懷特克服了孩子們和家長們的懷疑，把他們變成了一個真正團結互助的團隊。在懷特的指導下他們越來越出色，他們不斷獲得成功。這帶給了整個小鎮希望並燃起了全鎮的美國夢。

At last the seven become the first of the town to enter college, White also decides to stay for more generations of talents.

最終七人成為了小鎮首批走入大學的人，懷特也留下來培養了一代又一代的人才。

Below is a poem comes from one of the students for their running.

下面是其中一個孩子為他們的跑步運動寫下的一首小詩。

When we run, we own the earth.

當我們奔跑的時候，世界屬於我們。

The land is ours, we speak the bird"s language.

大地屬於我們，我們說著鳥兒的語言。

Not immigrants no more, not stupid Mexicans.

不再是外來移民，不再是愚蠢的墨西哥人。

When we run, our spirits fly, we speak to the gods.

當我們奔跑的時候，我們的靈魂飛舞著，與上帝交流。

When we run, we are the gods.

當我們奔跑的時候，我們就是上帝。
