如何讓論文抓住導師眼球？Introduction很重要

說起引言（introduction）是不是很多同學都感覺似乎挺容易，但是想要寫好，特別是想要寫的既簡潔又能迅速引起老師的興趣（eye-catching）還能高度概括你的論文「將要發生什麼」就顯得有些困難？今天榜樣君就來說一說怎樣寫好dissertation中的引言部分。

引言作為對整篇論文的內容和結構的概括可以遵循一定的「公式」，也就是說引言可以被解構為6個層次的內容，

即：背景；現狀及分歧；目的；原因；意義；outline。

是不是看著一頭霧水?

沒關係，接下來榜樣君就來詳細介紹這6個層次的內容具體怎麼寫。

/第一層次/

描述這個所選topic的背景和重要性

背景寫作的主要目的是引出所選topic以往的研究文獻也及該課題以往的研究觀點，因此在寫作上雖然會比較宏觀一些，但一定要緊密聯繫topic，可以用一兩句話帶過。

舉個栗子：

「One of the most common dilemmas facing many students in the United Kingdom in recent years has been the question of whether or not to take a part-time job. Rising tuition fees and living expenses make life very difficult for students who do not benefit from the financial support of their parents or other sponsors. In order to survive, thousands of students take out several loans and incur serious debt in the course of their years at university. However, others attempt to ease the financial burden of full-time study by finding a part-time job.」

介紹該課題目前的研究現狀以及存在的分歧

在這一部分不僅要對前人的研究做簡要說明，還要總結這些文獻的gap，也就是目前的研究中都存在哪些爭議，或者沒有涉及到的研究。

這一層次的開始通常是先簡要回顧相關學術文獻，用「根據XX等人的研究，或者根據什麼調查組織的報告」這樣的語句概述前人的研究成果，之後便是評述以往研究的benefit和gap，確定以往研究分歧的一個重要目的便是引出你所選這個課題的目的，也就是引言的第三層次內容。

確定研究該課題的原因

簡單來說，「原因」就是由於以前的文獻沒有關於這方面的研究，所以你要進行哪方面的研究；或者做這項研究能夠帶來什麼benefit。

舉個栗子：

「While measuring these effects may be challenging, establishing the attitudes of students and academic staff towards part-time jobs for students could provide a valuable insight into how they feel employment affects academic achievement.」

列出此次研究的目的

「研究目的」是為了強調你是為了什麼而研究。話不多說繼續舉個栗子：

This study aims to investigate the feelings of students and academic staff in relation to students doing part-time work. It also aims to analyse the findings of the research in order to establish the advantages and disadvantages that such work may have for students.

解釋本次研究的意義或價值

在這一部分通常要給出意見和建議

繼續舉個栗子：

「It is hoped that these findings will help both students and educational institutions to carefully consider the pros and cons that part-time employment has. This information could then be of use to students who are about to start a course of study at any university in the UK.」

/ 最後 /

簡要說明整篇論文的框架結構

本文首先做什麼，其次做什麼，最後做什麼，這樣導師在沒有讀main body的時候就知道你的論文是如何架構的

舉個栗子：

"This research project will first provide a review of some existing literature and analysis of the topic of part-time work for students. It will then describe the methods used in my own primary research. After this, it will analyse and evaluate the findings of this research before drawing any important conclusions and recommendations."
