《阿文的小毯子 Owen》雙語版
開媽的話
一個叫阿文的小老鼠很喜歡他的小毯子，從小到大從不離身，鄰居的阿嬸和阿文的爸爸媽媽想盡了辦法也不能讓阿文放棄，最後，媽媽把小毯子做成了一條一條的小手帕。後來，阿文每天都會帶著他的小手帕，再也沒有人說什麼了。
開開也有一條他睡覺必須要抱在懷裡的小毯子，他曾經也因為爸爸把他的小毯子洗乾淨而大哭不已，有圖有真相：

Owen had a fuzzy yellow blanket.
阿文有一條毛茸茸的黃色的小毯子。
He"d had it since he was a baby.
當他還是小寶寶的時候，他就有這條小毯子。
He loved it with all his heart.
阿文非常喜歡它。
"Fuzzy goes where I go," said Owen. And Fuzzy did. Upstairs, downstairs, in-between. Inside, outside, upside down.
不管是上、下樓梯，或者是在家裡、在外面，阿文總是說：「我去哪裡，小毯子就跟我去哪裡。」
"Fuzzy likes what I like," said Owen. And Fuzzy did. Orange juice, grape juice, chocolate milk. Ice cream, peanut butter, applesauce cake.
不管是橘子汁、葡萄汁、巧克力、牛奶，或者是冰淇淋、花生醬、蘋果醬蛋糕，阿文總是說：「我喜歡的東西，小毯子都喜歡。」
"Isn"t he getting a little old to be carrying that thing around?" asked Mrs. Tweezers. "Haven"t you heard of the Blanket Fairy?"
隔壁的阿姨忍不住說話了：「阿文長大了，怎麼還帶著毯子到處走呢？你們沒有聽過毛毯小精靈的故事嗎？」
Owen"s parents hadn"t.
阿文的爸爸媽媽搖搖頭。
Mrs. Tweezers filled them in.
「來，我說給你們聽，再教你們怎麼做。」
That night Owen"s parents told Owen to put Fuzzy under his pillow.
In the morning Fuzzy would be gone, but the Blanket Fairy would leave an absolutely wonderful, positively perfect, especially terrific big-boy gift in its place.
這天晚上，爸爸告訴阿文：「如果你把小毯子放在枕頭下，明天早上，小毯子就不見了，但是毛毯小精靈會留給你一個非常棒的禮物。媽媽說：「是男孩子最喜歡的玩具哦！
Owen stuffed Fuzzy inside his pajama pants and went to sleep.
睡覺前，阿文卻把小毯子塞進了褲子里。
"No Blanket Fairy," said Owen in the morning.
第二天早上，阿文拿出小毯子說：「根本沒有毛毯小精靈。」
"No kidding," said Owen"s mother.
媽媽說：「天哪！你怎麼把毛毯塞在褲子里？」
"No wonder," said Owen"s father.
爸爸說：「難怪....」
"Fuzzy"s dirty," said Owen"s mother.
媽媽說：「小毯子好臟。」
"Fuzzy"s torn and ratty," said Owen"s father.
爸爸說：「小毯子又破又舊，丟掉算了。」
"No," said Owen. "Fuzzy is perfect." And Fuzzy was.
阿文不肯，他說：「小毯子很好啊！」
Fuzzy played Captain Plunger with Owen.
「小毯子可以當披風……」
Fuzzy helped Owen become invisible.
「我可以躲在小毯子裡面，你們都找不到我。」
And Fuzzy was essential when it came to nail clippings and haircuts and trips to the dentist.
阿文剪頭髮、看牙齒的時候，都把小毯子帶在身邊。
"Can"t be a baby forever," said Mrs. Tweezers. "Haven"t you heard of the vinegar trick?"
隔壁的阿姨又說話了：「阿文不能永遠像個長不大的孩子，你們試過泡醋的方法嗎？」
Owen"s parents hadn"t.
阿文的爸爸媽媽搖搖頭。
Mrs. Tweezers filled them in.
「來，我教你們怎麼做。」
When Owen wasn"t looking, his father dipped Owen"s favorite corner of Fuzzy into a jar of vinegar.
趁阿文不注意的時候，爸爸把阿文最愛的小毯子的一角，泡在酸醋里。
Owen sniffed it and smelled it and sniffed it.
阿文找到了小毯子，聞啊聞，嗅啊嗅，聞啊聞。
He picked a new favorite corner.
於是，他換了一個最愛的小毯子的一角。
Then he rubbed the smelly corner all around his sandbox, buried it in the garden, and dug it up again.
阿文把小毯子泡過酸醋的一角放進沙堆里搓一搓，又把它埋在花園裡，然後挖出來。
"Good as new," said Owen.
他聞一聞說：「啊……像新的一樣了。」
Fuzzy wasn"t very fuzzy anymore. But Owen didn"t mind.
小毯子再也不像從前那麼毛茸茸了。但是阿文一點兒也不在乎。
He carried it. And wore it. And dragged it.
每天帶著它，披著它，拖著它……
He sucked it. And hugged it. And twisted it.
每天吸著它，抱著它，扭著它……
"What are we going to do?"asked Owen"s mother.
「我們該怎麼辦呢？」阿文的媽媽問。
"School is starting soon," said Owen"s father.
「快開學了。」阿文的爸爸說道。
"Can"t bring a blanket to school," said Mrs. Tweezers. "Haven"t you heard of saying no?"
隔壁的阿姨說：「不可以讓阿文帶著毯子上學，你們要直接告訴他：不行。」
Owen"s parents hadn"t.
阿文的爸爸媽媽不知道該怎麼說不。
Mrs. Tweezers filled them in.
於是隔壁的阿姨教他們怎麼說。
"I have to bring Fuzzy to school," said Owen.
阿文說：「我要帶小毯子上學。」
"No," said Owen"s mother.
「不行！」媽媽說。
"No," said Owen"s father.
「不行！」爸爸說得更大聲。
Owen buried his face in Fuzzy. He started to cry and would not stop.
阿文聽了，用小毯子遮住臉。
He started to cry and would not stop.
他傷心地哭個不停……
"Don"t worry," said Owen"s mother.
媽媽說：「乖，不要哭。」
"It"ll be all right," said Owen"s father.
爸爸說：「我們再想想看。」
And then suddenly Owen"s mother said, "I have an idea!"
忽然，媽媽大叫：「哎呀！我想出辦法了！」
It was an absolutely wonderful, positively perfect, especially terrific idea.
這真是一個超級無敵特別棒的辦法。
First she snipped. And then she sewed. Then she snipped again and sewed some more.
媽媽把小毯子剪成一塊、一塊的，再用縫紉機把它們的四個邊兒車起來。
Snip, snip, snip.
咔嚓、咔嚓、咔嚓。
Sew, sew, sew.
縫、縫、縫。
"Dry your eyes." "Wipe your nose." Hooray, hooray, hooray!
「擦擦眼淚、擦擦嘴。」 阿文高興地說：「萬歲，萬歲，萬歲！」
Now Owen carries one of his not-so-fuzzy handkerchiefs with him wherever he goes...
現在，不管阿文走到哪裡，身上都帶著一條不那麼毛茸茸的小手絹兒。
And Mrs. Tweezers doesn"t say a thing.
隔壁的阿姨也不再多話了。
