繪本簡介：這一隻小小的螢火蟲誕生在金黃色的落日餘暉下，一隻螢火蟲真是太寂寞，所以牠打開了尾巴的小燈，開始找尋其他的螢火蟲。別看夜裡烏漆抹黑的，其實路上可熱鬧了！螢火蟲一心急著要找到同伴，所以老是跟錯對象，一下子是電燈泡、蠟燭、小燈籠、手電筒，一下子又是小狗、小貓與貓頭鷹亮晶晶的眼睛。最後，這隻寂寞的螢火蟲誤闖入漫天五彩繽紛的煙火中，當所有的煙火停止，黑夜歸於平靜後，他終於看到了一群閃著小燈泡的螢火蟲，從此這隻螢火蟲，再也不叫「寂寞」的螢火蟲了！

這個繪本隱含的寓意是讓孩子靜下心來，透過繁華的世界，發現真實的自我。也可以看作是寫給孩子的關於尋找歸屬感的寓言。讓孩子學會勇敢直視孤獨，並慢慢學會與同伴相處。也可以是教導我們的孩子無論遇到什麼困難，只要堅持下去，你的目標一定可以實現。在閱讀過程中，請抓住以上幾點，引導我們的孩子。

As the sun set a little firefly was born. It streched its wings and flew off into the darkening sky.

It was a lonely firefly and it flashed its light searching for other fireflies.

這是一隻寂寞的螢火蟲，它點亮光去尋找其它同伴。

The firefly saw a light and flew toward it. But it was not another firefly. It was a lightbulb lighting up the night.
