若 15:18-21

耶穌說：「若是你們屬於世界，世界必喜愛你們，有如屬於自己的人；但因你們不屬於世界，而是我從世界上揀選了你們，為此，世界才恨你們。」

我們怎麼知道自己是屬於耶穌還是屬於世界呢？

如果你按照世界的標準生活，如果你自負，野心勃勃，炫耀滿足於擁有的財富，你就是屬於世界，世界都讚美你。

但如果你被天主的愛與聖潔所催迫，你無疑就是被耶穌揀選，成為他的門徒，從世界的文化中分別出來，在主耶穌的聖潔法律下生活。

「如果人們迫害了我，也要迫害你們。」

因此，如果因為你虔誠而受到嘲笑，如果你遵從耶穌的教導而被人仇恨，你應該歡呼喜樂！你是天主的朋友！

Acts 16:1-10

Jn 15:18-21

Jesus says, "The world would love you if you belonged to it, but you don"t. I chose you to come out of the world, and so it hates you."

How are we to know if we belong to Jesus or the world?

If you live by the standards of the world, if you are vain, given to pleasure, wealth and ambition, you belong to the world and it will praise you.

But if you are motivated by love of God and holiness, you are clearly chosen by Jesus to be His follower, separated from worldly culture and governed by His holy laws.

"If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you."

Therefore, if you are ridiculed because of your piety, if you are hated for siding with the teachings of Jesus - rejoice and be glad! You are a friend of God!
