刺繡 Embroidery
China"s Xiang Xiu, Shu Xiu, Yue Xiu, and Su Xiu are known as the 「Four Famous Embroideries」. Beyond that there are also Gu Xiu, Miao Xiu, Mawei Xiu of Ethnic Shui, and Pan Xiu of Ethnic Tu. Embroidery in all parts of the country has its own characteristics. Su Xiu is known for its double-faced embroidery; Shu Xiu has many bright colors; Xiang Xiu is best known for gold and silver thread embroidery; and Yue Xiu is used for costume embroidery. The earliest embroidery craft has been more than 3,000 years old. The main uses of embroidery are daily necessities and decorations of costumes. The patterns are also various, and the traditional patterns are represented by animals, birds and flowers, etc.

Guo Pei"s designs are more like aesthetic works of art. When Rihanna dressed on the golden robe designed by Guo Pei in 2015 Met Gala and walked on the red carpet, more people in the world knew her name suddenly. Combining embroidery and fashion for more than ten years, Guo Pei has formed the embroidery of her own style. She said, 「Embroidery cannot be lost. This is a memory of our national culture.」
剪紙Paper Cutting
As a traditional Chinese folk art, paper cutting has been proved to be more than two thousand years old. The distribution of paper-cutting is very wide and covers almost all over the country. It has also developed its own characteristics in different areas. There are Yuxian paper cutting, Fengning Manchu paper cutting, Yiwulv Mountain Manchu paper cutting, Yangzhou paper cutting, Yueqing fine-grain paper, Guangdong paper cutting, Ethnic Dai paper cutting, Ansai paper cutting and other branches. Paper cutting is used for the decoration of furniture and buildings in everyday life, and various production processes are derived from different uses, such as crepe paper, dyed paper, and multi-colored paper cutting.
剪紙作為世界非物質文化遺產，以其裁剪和圖案豐富多變、裝飾性強的特點，為設計師們所青睞。中國青年服裝設計師蘭玉向傳統技藝傳承者學習剪紙藝術，並將剪紙元素融合到她的設計中。
