Angel

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.

有一個嬰兒即將出生。

He asked God, 「They told me you are going to send me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?」

一天，他問上帝，「他們告訴我，明天你就要把我從天堂送到人間了，可我這麼弱小無助，在那兒我該怎麼生活呢？」

God replied, 「I have chosen one angel for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.」

上帝說，「我給你選了一位天使。她將會等著你降臨，還會照顧你。」

「But,」 said the child, 「I long for happiness, but I can』t really do many things.」

「不過」，小孩又問道，「我嚮往快樂，但很多事情我都不會做。」

God said, 「Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. You will feel your angel』s love and be happy.」

上帝說，「你的天使會每天為你歌唱和微笑。你會感受到她的愛，會感到幸福的。」

「And I can』t understand the language that men talk.」 the child continued.

「還有，我聽不懂人的語言啊。」孩子繼續道。

「That』s easy」, said God. 「Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweetest words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care. Your angel will also teach you how to speak.」

「這很簡單，」上帝說，「你的天使會耐心溫柔地對你說最動聽和甜蜜的話語。她還會教你說話。」

The child said, 「I』ve heard that on earth there are bad men. Who will protect me?」

小孩說，「我聽說世間有很多壞人，誰會來保護我呢？」

God put his arms around the child and said, 「Your angel will defend you, even if it means risking her life!」

上帝把手放在小孩身上，說，「你的天使會保護你，即使是冒著生命危險！」

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard.

這一刻，天堂一片寧靜，但已能聽到凡間的聲音。

The child, in a hurry, asked one more question softly: 「Oh God, if I』m about to leave now, please tell me my angel』s name!」

小孩有點急促，又輕聲問了一個問題，「哦，上帝，如果我現在就得出發，請告訴我我的天使的名字！」

God replied, 「Your angel』s name is not hard to remember. You will simply call her Mommy!」

上帝回答說，「她的名字很容易記，你就叫她——『媽媽』。」

我們每個人都有一位全心全意守護自己的天使，她就是媽媽。
