These stars are too hard on themselves. Its clearly the injury but they dont like making excuses because of how competitive they are.

I mean, from the eye test he looks ok. He"s getting to the rim with ease and his defense is about as good as you"re going to get from him - he"s not some elite defender even when "healthy".

The issue is his shot isn"t falling

I don"t think the knee is holding him back, but it may just be an issue of timing/conditioning. I think we take for granted the kind of shape you have to be in to be an NBA player, especially one that relies on quick cuts and movement like Curry. Being out for 6 weeks could have set him back significantly, and he may still be getting his timing and fitness back

Guy had two mediocre games (by Curry standards) and everyone is freaking out. He was solid against the Pels. I mean no skyfucker prime, but definately solid.

Now I remember why I hate this subreddit so much during the playoffs. The "hot takes" are off the chart.

6.5 rebs, 7.5 assists, 1.5 turnovers, 14/21 on two pointers.

The only issue is 2/13 from 3. It"s a two game sample. He shot it fine against NO. There isn"t any issue with him.

Another thing to consider (and I"m surprised it isn"t talked about more) is Curry has become the focal point of the Houston offense. They"re putting him through the ringer and Curry is giving a lot of effort on the defensive side of the court to be as little of a liability as possible. That has to take a toll on you as a player, both physically and emotionally knowing that your weaknesses are going to be exploited all game.

People dont understand this. When you"re constantly switching on to the opposition"s best player and getting body bumped constantly, it affects your rhythm on offence. Especially for a shooter like Steph. I"ve noticed this with Klay in some regular season games before.

On the other hand when he is guarding someone like Kyrie, who drives to the basket consistently and gets screens from the bigs and when Klay has to fight through those screens, it really affects his shooting rhythm and often scores point when the other person is on bench

And believe it or not, I think the Rockets are aware of this and they are specifically targeting Curry on defense to wear him down on offense. They know and want KD to play to the mismatches he gets on rotations, because he won"t hit 10 three pointers a game. They are fine with KD scoring as many mid and long range jumpers as he wants, because 3 points is better than 2... this is MoreyBall at it"s finest.
