印製經書出售的人，是不是造業不能解脫了？

提問：頂禮上師，佛經說不能販賣佛像經書，否則會造業。那麼，畫唐卡、製作佛像、印製經書出售的人，是不是都造業，不能解脫了呢？請求上師慈悲開示。

上師答：主要看發心、看心態。發心不清凈，為了自己的生活，為了個人的生存，為了個人的利益是不可以的，這樣是有過失的。為了弘法利生是可以的。唐卡、佛像、經書也屬於所依，通過這些也可以積累資糧。比如眾生因此而起了信心，這也是利益；以恭敬心請佛像也有功德，還可以做修法時的所依，這都是有意義的，能利益很多眾生，這樣是可以的。主要是發心清凈。

Question: Homage to the Guru. It says that one should not sell Buddha statues or sutra in the Buddhist Sutras, otherwise the one will make bad karma. Well, do the ones who draw thangkas or print and sell Buddhist sutras make bad karma? And are they not able to be liberated? Please kindly give us instructions.

Guru answers: It depends on ones』 motivation and mind. These cannot be done and are faults if your motivation is not pure but for your life, personal livelihood or personal benefit. These can be done if the motivation is for promoting Dharma and benefiting beings. Thangkas, Buddha statues as well as Buddhist Sutra are the supports of practice, through which we can accumulate merits. For example, people arouse faith from these products, they are benefited. There is also merit when purchasing Buddha statues with respects, and the Buddha statues can be the support when practicing. Then all of these are meaningful and able to benefit a lot of beings, that is fine. The point is the pure motivation.
