China overnight bullet trains now have a new category of soft sleepers referred to as "capsule sleepers". These are individual sleeping compartments. These individual sleepers can be found on overnight D trains. On these trains, the speed has been reduced to make sure that travellers get a full night of sleep.These are available on overnight D trains between Beijing and Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai, Guangzhou and Beijing and Guangzhou and Shanghai.

I travel once every other year back from the US of A to China to visit grandparents. I』ve loved the comfort of sleeping on overnight trains and the speed of the high speed trains. This is honestly a dream, the reduced speed is a bit disappointing but to be honest it』s really impossible to have both without compromise.

Wow. I have been living in China for 4 years and have never seen these before! I never knew they even existed! I only know of the slower sleeper trains on the Z train/K Train.

it is very considerate for them to lower the speed so the journey will be longer to allow people have enough sleeping time. I certainly don"t want to arrive in the destination at 4am. kudos to China railway.
