去年此時大暑,我們一行八人在四川安岳縣行走,清風半夜鳴蟬是詩意,賓館門外大量死去的蟬是現實。蟬的生命周期跟100公里的展期一樣,短則七天長則十五天,撤展後被拆卸的作品堆滿了藝術家的工作室,如同蟬的幼蟲,等待下一次被喚醒。藝術並不因成都的房價變得更不容易或者更容易,但是七天足夠了,只是作品要有態度,要再有態度一些。

「夜走黃沙道」取自南宋辛棄疾的一首詞名,他曾夜行黃沙嶺道,浸入式的聽覺、嗅覺和觸覺體驗向其開示生命的日常;美國極簡主義藝術家托尼.史密斯(Tony Smith)曾夜行未完工的高速公路,那趟富有啟示意義的體驗將其從關於對藝術的許多成見中解放出來。我在想像一次關於100公里的夜走,個體去把內心自我的私密對話轉化成一種公共語言,一種可以跟公眾交流的語言,而交流或者溝通原本就是話語公共空間的所在地。因此,100公里的這一次展覽,李琨選擇使用兩隻忽明忽暗的燈泡達成一次開環的交互;凌維晗通過構建一個鏡面的場域,讓觀者和多個自我對話;張晉再利用工作室所見的一切雜物,展覽期間讓觀眾以物易物。這些作品隱在明堂書店二樓的某處,與既有空間結合起來,我們希望它是一次有態度的嘗試。

Eight artists in our team walked around Anyue County of Sichuan at this time last year. The sentence of I hear cicadas shrill in the breeze at midnight was poetic, but it was true that a large number of cicadas died outside our hotel. The life cycle of cicadas is almost the same as the exhibition period of 100 kilometers, which ranges between seven days and fifteen days. After the dismantling, the pieces of works are filled with the artists studio, just like the cicada larva, and it will wait to be awakened in near future. Art does not become easier or uneasier due to Chengdu"s housing prices, and the exhibition duration of seven days is enough for us, but we must have more art concept toward our works.

"Night Walking on the Yellow Sand Road" is taken from one title of poet Xin Qiji in Song Dynasty. He wrote that the immersive hearing, smell and tactile sense experience revealed the daily life for him. Also American minimalist Tony Smith once walked around some unfinished highway with three students, the inspiring experience liberated him from many stereotypes about art. I am planning an night walk for the project of 100 kilometers in my imagination, and I do hope that individuals will transform the private experience of inner self into a common language, which can communicate with the public, whatever communication is originally the location of the public space of discourse. In this exhibition, LeeKun uses two light bulbs to achieve an open-loop interaction; Vivienne Ling constructs a mirrored field to allow viewers to talk to multiple self; Zhang Jin re-locate all the secondhand items and the wastes in the studio, and let the audience bargain during the exhibition. These works are installed somewhere on the second floor of the Mingtang Bookstore, combined with the existing space, we hope that it is a meaningful practice.

LeeKun

李琨是一個生活在成都的新媒體藝術家,他運用硬體/軟體/濕件進行創作,來探索藝術表達上新的可能性。他創作的裝置,音樂,影像,互動程序既在音樂廳、美術館裡展演,也出現在公共空間,讓人參與其中。並在大學及機構開設新媒體課程與工作坊。

LeeKun is a new media artist based in Chengdu. He creates art work by using hardware/software/wetware, exploring new possibilities in art expression. His works include installation、music、vision and interactive project and have been exhibited in both concert、museums and open public space. He is running new media workshops as well as teaching specialized courses in university and institute.

Vivienne Ling

(b. 1993)

2015年畢業於首都師範大學,先後在北京今日美術館、成都麓湖?A4美術館做著出版、媒體的策劃編輯工作,對傳統繪畫、雕塑之外的新媒體及更多元的綜合裝置表達形式產生興趣,在當代藝術百花齊放的活躍氛圍熏陶下,開始嘗試藝術創作。關注未來的發展、更高維度空間理論、自然保護、人文等主題,試圖以年輕的視角和想像力盡情創造,於實驗中發聲。

Graduated from Capital Normal University in 2015, she has been working on the editing of publishing and media at the Beijing Today Art Museum and the Chengdu LUKELAKES?A4 Art Museum. She is interested in new media and mixed media expressions beyond traditional painting and sculpture. Inspired by the active atmosphere of contemporary art, she began to try artistic creation. Focusing on future development, higher dimensional space theory, nature conservation, humanity, and other topics, she tries to create in artistic experiments with her young perspectives and imagination.

張晉

Zhang Jin

(b. 1978)

現居成都。1996年進入中國科學技術大學(USTC)學習,獲材料化學方向本科和碩士學位;2007年獲得美國紐約大學理工學院(NYU.POLY)材料化學博士學位。張晉的作品涉及裝置、攝影、和視頻。他曾花四年時間反覆地行走在古絲綢之路上,探討關於文明和文化在現代化中國的連續性。借鑒一些交叉學科的方法論,他嘗試去獲取(生產)圖像。

Resides in Chengdu. He received BS & MS in Chemistry at University of Science and Technology of China in 2004, and PHD of Chemistry at Polytechnic Institute of New York University in 2007. Jin』s practice involves Photography, installation and Video. He likes to explore the alternative possibility of producing images. He once spent four years repeatedly walking on the ancient Silk Road, and sought remaining monuments of civilization and cultural continuity. Based on the methodology of chemical experiments, he devoted himself in the experiments on contemporary iconography.
