記住：「tough cookie」不是「硬餅乾」！

今天咱們來學習兩個關於cookie的習語：

餅乾是烘烤出來的甜點，看到「tough cookie」小夥伴可能會認為餅乾烤的時間比較久，所以變得很硬。

但是如果有人用來形容自己或者是別人呢？就不能只看表面意思啦~

其實這個短語指的是A strong, determined person who is not easily intimidated, discouraged, or defeated. 「意志堅強的人」。

如果一個人能夠處理困難的情況，你就可以說他是「one tough cookie」。

比如：

She had a difficult childhood, but she"s a tough cookie. I know she"ll be a success.

她的童年很不幸，但是她很頑強，我認為她一定會成功。

That"s the way the cookie crumbles.

都是這樣的；人生就是如此。

這句話在日常生活里很常用，如果一個人說That"s the way the cookie crumbles.或That"s how the cookie crumbles. TA其實是想表達即使事情發展不盡人意，也要學會接受現實。

比如：

You"re not always on peak performance, but that"s just the way the cookie crumbles.

你不可能總是狀態極佳，但這就是現實。

引申：

兩個類似的表達：

That"s the way it goes.
