A Dream夢

Once a dream did weave a shade，

O"er my Angel-guarded bed,

That an emmet lost its way,

Where on grass methought I lay.

有一回幻夢織了一片樹蔭

罩在我那天使守護的床頂，

我想我準是躺在草地，

看見一隻迷路的螞蟻。

Troubled, wildered, and forlorn,

Dark, benighted, travel-worn,

Over many a tangled spray,

All heart-broke, I heard her say:

困惑，孤獨，又苦惱，

黑夜茫茫，也走得疲勞，

多少縱橫交錯的草蔓上,

我聽她哭得真心傷，在訴說：

"Oh my children! do they cry？

Do they hear their father sigh?

Now they look abroad to see,

Now return and weep for me."

「我的孩子啊！他們在哭泣，

他們可聽見他們天父嘆息？

忽兒他們到外面探望，

忽兒又回去，為我而淚水汪汪。」

Pitying, I dropped a tear；

But I saw a glow-worm near,

Who replied, "What wailing wight

Calls the watchman of the night?

我流下一滴淚，替她可憐，

但瞧見螢火蟲就在身邊，

他答道，「是哪個好哭鬼，

把我這守夜人喚來？

"I am set to light the ground,

While the beetle goes his round:

Follow now the beetle"s hum;

Little wanderer, hie thee home."

「我就要照亮這塊地面，

這兒甲蟲要漫遊一遍；

你且跟著甲蟲的嗡嗡；

小流浪者，快快轉回家中。」

作者簡介

William Blake（威廉·布萊克）

（1757-1827）

英國著名浪漫主義詩人，版畫家

本詩收錄在他1789年的詩集《天真之歌》里，

所謂天真，布萊克認為天真是冬季的袍子，

可以理解為，可以禦寒，

充滿溫暖，其實就是對萬事萬物的愛

在西方有捕夢網的說法

好夢會穿過那個洞

而噩夢會被困在網中

不過，你過去可能早已熟悉

William Blake的一些詩句

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand

And Eternity in an hour.

其翻譯成的中文多達幾十版本，現摘兩個：
