美猴王和水果的不解之緣

今天我們要聊聊西遊記中的孫悟空

但是今天的話題不是談孫悟空高超的武藝

而是談談孫悟空和他吃的水果......

When it comes to fruits, no one knows better than the Monkey King from 「Journey to the West」 written by Ming Dynasty novelist and poet Wu Cheng』en (1500-82), which is considered one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature.

說到水果，沒有人比明代小說家、詩人吳成恩所寫的西遊記中的孫悟空更了解了，《西遊記》被認為是中國文學四大名著之一。

The journey of Buddhist monk Xuanzang and his disciples Sun Wukong (Monkey King), Zhu Bajie (Pig) and Sha Wujing (Monk Sha) is an all-time favorite story that Chinese people grew up enjoying.

玄奘和他的徒弟孫悟空、豬八戒和沙悟凈西天取經是中國人最喜愛的故事。

The Monkey King is one of the most famous fictional figures in Chinese literature, and before he was imprisoned under a mountain by the Buddha and the journey to the west, he and the monkeys in the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit lived a happy life of climbing trees, picking flowers and looking for fruits.

孫悟空是中國文學虛構的人物中最有名的一個。在他被佛祖囚禁在山底和西天取經之前，他和他的猴子猴孫們在花果山上過著快樂的生活，爬樹、摘花、找水果。

Their menu is filled with today』s favorite fruits: yellow-skinned loquats, fragrant peaches, tender apricots, ripe watermelons and bursting pomegranates.

他們吃的水果也是我們今天最喜歡吃的水果：黃枇杷、香桃、杏、西瓜和石榴。

In some chapters, the fruits play an important role that moves the plot along, like the Peach Orchard incident in heaven.

在西遊記的一些章節中，水果在推動情節發展方面發揮了重要的作用。比如大鬧蟠桃園。

Peaches of Immortality

The Heaven makes Sun the guardian of the Queen Mother of the West』s peach orchard where 3,600 pantao peach trees grow. Anyone who eats them becomes an immortal with a healthy and strong body.

天庭讓孫悟空負責看管蟠桃園，那裡有3600棵蟠桃樹。吃了蟠桃的人將會身體強壯，長生不老。

The peaches are picked by the seven fairies and served at the Feast of Peaches celebrating the Queen Mother of the West』s birthday. When Sun finds out that he』s excluded from the banquet, he eats the peaches, drinks the Jade Emperor』s wine and eats LaoJun』s pill of longevity, causing trouble at the feast.

這些桃子由七個仙女採摘，在慶祝西王母娘娘生日的時候供大家品嘗。當孫悟空發現自己沒被生日宴邀請得時候，他索性自己把桃子摘下來，吃了起來，又喝了玉帝的酒，偷吃了太上老君的長壽仙丹，把蟠桃會弄得一塌糊塗。
