哪裡有茶杯？漢譯英你能翻譯的貼切嗎？（There be 句型）
今天學習There be句型。
我們一聽到there be句型，通常會想到「有」字，英文里相對應的就會想到have和 has,但是英語里的有和漢語里的有表達方法是截然不同的。
「有」表示擁有者或者執行者
例如： 我有一本書。I have a book.這個句子就是主謂賓的句子。have是及物動詞必須有賓語。
桌上有五本書。There are five books on the table.
英語里的疑問句一般會用Have you ...?美語里卻常用Do you have......?
後面學完成時態的時候，疑問句我們也會用到Have you...?你想如果我只是看到英語應用的have you ...?只看到這些我們就無法區分問的是你有什麼東西嗎？還是問你完成了什麼或者是問你做完了什麼呢？為了避免這概念的混淆，問你有或者他有什麼的時候，就用美語里的Do you have,,,?
Do you have a book? 你有一本書嗎？
Did you have a car last year? 你去年有車嗎？
完成時 ：Have you .......?
一般時 ：Do you have......?
過去時 ：Did you have......?
我有一本書。 I have a book 。 這句話的主語不僅是動詞的執行者還是賓語的擁有者。
桌上有五本書。 There are five books on the table. 這句話的主語既不是動詞的執行者也不是賓語的擁有者。
通常我們習慣把there be 句型說成是某處有某物，如果這樣理解，就容易導致英漢語序一樣的錯誤理解，我們就會習慣的翻譯成桌子have(has)書。
說正確的理解是這樣的，有某物在某處就是there be句型.這樣理解才是正確的
There be (are is)一般時 there be （were was）過去時
There have（has） been 完成時,there be 句型的完成時表示一度有過,若表示「已經有「往往使用一般時態"there is(are)"所代替。
There will be 是將會有。
There be句型 也有相應的時態，而且thre be 還可以和情態動詞聯用，比如可能有、應該有、一定（must）有。

There be句型還牽扯可數和不可數的句子
there is 句型(可數單數)，there is句型(不可數名詞)表示好多時用 much .......。
there are 句型(可數單數)是名詞後加s或es,there are句型(可數複數)many加在可數名詞前。
there be句型表示很少時，few和a few修飾可數名詞，表示少量。修飾不可數名詞時表示少量用little 和a little.
There is a pen.
There is much milk.
There are many peple.
There are a few peple.
以上句型，否定句就是be動詞後加not,疑問句就是be動詞提到句首，句號變問號。
There be 句型里沒有說明具體的數量的時候，肯定句there be後面用some,否定句和疑問句用any.

劉教授講了一個對there be句型理解不透徹的事例，有個應聘的老師，應劉教授要求翻譯一句話，哪有茶杯？應聘者首先回答說Where is the cup?（茶杯在哪裡啊？）然後他接著說還可以翻譯成Where can I find the cup ?（我在哪裡可以找到茶杯啊？）劉老師說你翻譯的這兩句的具體句型都不錯，可能是因為對there be句型理解的不夠透徹，拿不準才導致翻譯了兩次，但是兩句話都不夠貼切，語言畢竟就是要講究個貼切。
就教授說看看下面這個句子There is a cup in the room。如果對in the room提問，不就是應該這樣：Where is there a cup ?（哪有茶杯？）這句話才準確貼切，句子能翻譯到這個程度，功底就絕對不一般了。
對這個句子I am in the room .對the room 提問。句子應該是What am I in?
對There are five cups in the room.中的five cups提問，What is there in the room?five cups 是主語，對主語提問要按照第三人稱單數形式。
There must be many peple. (there must be 一定有...)
There should be some students in the classroom.(there should be 應該有...)
