虎撲9月26日訊 《泰晤士報》獨家消息，曼聯主帥穆里尼奧告知曼聯全隊，球隊中場博格巴此後永遠不會再擔任曼聯隊長，因其對博格巴的態度感到非常惱火。據消息人士透露，穆里尼奧發簡訊告訴全隊所有球員：「博格巴不會再擔任隊長，因為他沒有體現出隊長是什麼，曼聯比任何人都大，沒有人能比俱樂部更大。（José Mourinho told the players that Paul Pogba will not be the captain because he doesn』t represent what a captain is and Manchester United is bigger than anyone）」
在1-1戰平狼隊的比賽中，博格巴的表現令穆里尼奧非常惱火。穆里尼奧表示，在對陣德比郡的比賽中，博格巴不會出場。
消息人士還表示：「球員們對教練的決定以及這件事背後的原因感到滿意。（The players were happy with that decision and the reasons behind the manager』s decision）」
