「I』m too small!」 wailed Puppy.

「我太小了！」小狗哭著說。

「I can』t reach the doorknob.」

「我夠不到門把手。」

「But you can reach the cookies on the table.」 said Mouse.

「但是你可以夠到桌子上的餅乾。」小老鼠說。

「Please share one with me.」

「請分給我一塊。」

And Puppy did.

小狗就那麼做了。

「I』m too small!」 wailed Puppy.

「我太小了！」小狗哭著說。

「I can』t pull my toy box.」

「我拽不動我的玩具箱子」

「But you can pull my wagon full of dear ones,」

「但是你能拽動裝滿我的寶貝的推車，」

Mrs. Bunny said,「Would you?」

兔子太太說。「可以嗎？」

And Puppy did.

小狗就那麼做了。

「I』m too small!」 wailed Puppy.

「我太小了！」小狗哭著說。

「I can』t climb the tree.」

「我爬不上這棵樹。」

「But you can swing from it,」 said Squirrel.

「但是你可以在上面盪鞦韆，」松鼠說。

「Please swing with me.」

「請和我一起盪鞦韆吧。」

And Puppy did.

小狗就那麼做了。

「I』m too small!」 wailed Puppy.

「我太小了！」小狗哭著說。

「I can』t dig a hole big enough to play in.」

「我不能挖一個足夠大的洞在裡面玩。」

Chipmunk said, 「This is just right for my acorns.

花栗鼠說，「這裡正好可以放我的橡果子。

Will you let me use it?」

你能把它給我用嗎？」

And Puppy did.

小狗就那麼做了。

「I』m too small!」 wailed Puppy.

「我太小了！」小狗哭著說。

「I can』t hammer on the workbench.」

「我不能在工作台上敲打。」

「You can fit under it and fix the leg,」 Daddy said.

「你可以在桌子下面修理這條桌子腿，」爸爸說。

「Will you?」

「可以嗎？」

And Puppy did.

小狗就那麼做了。

「I』m too small!」 wailed Puppy.

「我太小了！」小狗哭著說。

「I can』t carry my chair.」

「我拿不動我的椅子。」

「But you can carry my sewing basket,」 said Grandma.

「但是你能拿動我的縫紉袋子，」奶奶說。

「Please do.」

「請吧。」

And Puppy did.

小狗就那麼做了。

Mama helped Puppy get ready for bed.

媽媽幫助小狗準備上床睡覺。

「Today,」 she said,」 you have reached a cookie on the table, pulled a wagon full of dear ones, swung on a swing, dug a hole for acorns, fixed a leg on the workbench, and carried a sewing basket. Do you know why?」

「今天，」她說，「你夠到了桌子上的餅乾，拽動了裝滿小可愛的手推車，盪起了鞦韆，為橡果子挖了一個洞，修好了工作台的一條桌子腿，並且拿動了一個縫紉袋子。你知道為什麼嗎？」

「Why?」 asked Puppy.

「為什麼？」小狗問。

「Because you are just the right size!」 said Mama.

「因為你現在個頭剛剛好！」媽媽說。

And she gave Puppy a hug, a kiss, and a squeeze.

然後她給了小狗一個擁抱，一個親吻，和一個緊緊的擁抱。
