方丈微語

真正的佛弟子，當如是發心：「我今發心，不為自求人天福報、聲聞緣覺乃至權乘諸位菩薩，惟依最上乘，發菩提心，願與法界眾生，一時同得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。」

The aspiration of the Buddha』s disciples

The true buddhist disciples shouldarousethe aspiration: 「At present Iresolvethat I will never ask for the human and heavenly blessings to myself, and also never pray to become a ?rāvaka (disciple) or Pratyekabuddha (self-enlightened),or even become one of the multitudinous Bodhisattvas of Expedient Teaching. I only take refuge in theSupreme vehicle (yāna)of Buddhism, make a bodhicitta (an awakening mind) vow, and wish to achievethe highest perfect awakening(anuttarā-samyak-sa?bodhi)with sentient beings of the realm of Dharma(Dharmadhātu).」
