What is white tea?

White tea , which is slightly fermented, belongs to six major types of tea.

People would wonder why this kind of tea is called white tea . White tea is known by pekoe covering over its dry tea, the yellow-white or blue-white tea soup ,delicious taste and well rounded flavour as well.

The process of white tea is simpler than any other kinds of tea.

Workers need to spread thin fresh tea on bamboo mat under weak sunshine, or place them in airy and photic rooms so that they will wither naturally .

When the white tea comes to a dryness level of 70%-80%, they are ready for slow drying with gentle fire.

The main producing areas of white tea are Fuding, Zhenghe, Songxi and Jianyang in Fujian Province.

White tea can also be divided into many kinds according to different tea varieties and picking standards, which can be listed in the following chart.
