林鄭月娥在發言中再次譴責遊行示威中發生的暴力，並表示政府已啟動跨部門應急機制，應對周一(5日)部分市民發起的罷工運動。林鄭月娥表示，理解尊重部分市民表達訴求的權利，但罷工者也應該尊重其他市民不罷工的權利。

林鄭月娥還表示，有「極端暴力行為正將香港推向十分危險的情況」，示威者的行為已經「超越政治訴求」，並在「挑戰國家主權」。她還說，能夠明白市民對政府的不滿，但不等於要縱容暴力，「暴力令問題糾纏不清，難以解決。」

Some protesters just want to get entangled in a life-and-death struggle and push Hong Kong to a dead end, said Carrie Lam, who asked the demonstrators whether they are betting their stable lives and the future of Hong Kong.

暴力重創經濟民生

反對派示威者周一發起了罷工、罷課、罷市運動，造成交通大堵塞，多條地鐵線暫停運行，不少香港市民出行受阻。
