National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month is celebrated everyNovember in the United States to recognize the intertribal cultures and toeducate the public about the heritage, history, art, and traditions of theAmerican Indian and Alaska Native people. This commemorative month aims toprovide a platform for Native people in the United States to share theirculture, traditions, music, crafts, dance, and ways and concepts of life.

為慶祝原住民的文化遺產及其對美國和世界的持續貢獻，上海美國中心將播放一系列電影，帶您領略真正的美國原住民歷史和文化。每部影片放映前，會有領館官員介紹講解美國原住民文化的一部分，以開啟對該片的討論。

To honor their legacy and continued contributions to America and the world, theShanghai American Center is hosting a film series celebrating Native Americanheritage, giving you aninsight into NativeAmerican history and culture. Before each movie, an American diplomat will talkabout an aspect of Native American heritage and lead a discussion of the film.

其中，美國公共電視台(PBS)五集紀錄片《我族長存》記錄下了美國原住民英勇反抗驅逐、試圖保護自己民族文化的鬥爭史。

「We Shall Remain」 is a five-part PBS series that shows how Native peoplesvaliantly resisted expulsion from their lands and fought the extinction oftheir culture.

「We Shall Remain: Wounded Knee」 retells the story of how, in 1973, some 200American Indian Movement (AIM) activists engaged in a 71-day stand-off with theUS government demanding redress for grievances, some dating back over 100years.
