Yeah, this stat really doesn"t provide a full picture. Harden passes more, but Russ has the ball in his hands more and shoots more per game. I like using TOV%, since that normalizes for total possessions used (either ending in a shot attempt, foul, or a turnover). That has WB ahead, 16.6% to 19.8%, and I think its a much better, more holistic stat.

A lot of Harden"s turnovers are him trying to squeeze passes between lots of hands, him trying to be too fancy with passes (between a defenders legs, no looks, no look-behind the back, etc.) or due to teammates not being in position or ready to catch the ball.

That"s fucking hilarious. Has there ever been a season where so many guys have such high usage rates. This whole year is like a statistical anomaly.

Westbrook and Harden are both on pace to smash his record.

They both create a ton of looks but not necessarily high quality looks and I think the teams are both coached to take any reasonable shot off a pass from them. It"s been fairly successful for both teams though.

I know it"s an over-simplification to say they"re playing quantity over quality but I don"t think it"s far off the mark. I think both guys probably create more quality looks than anyone else not named Chris Paul or Steph Curry or LeBron James too (but that"s also a function of quantity too to an extent).

Curry has the same AST/TO, he keeps making those terrible behind the back style passes at times when he really shouldn"t be.

Probably the biggest fundamental issue with his game this year

Yeah, I haven"t been impressed with Steph"s passing at all. He"s good for one highlight-worthy pass per game, and moves the ball around the perimeter with simple passes like they all do.

But he makes so many dumb, unnecessarily fancy passes. Or just is sloppy/lazy with a simple one.

Draymond consistently impresses me with his vision. Steph hasn"t for a while now.
