趙大陸的人體畫作有受過學院訓練的應有特點，刻畫準確，表達充分。用一句行話，就是基本功很深很紮實。如果一定要用一個風格、流派的術語去形容它，自然應該算是寫實主義的甚至是古典主義的了。西方人評論道：在他的作品中，他運用了某種從他在歐洲時的導師那裡學到的西方繪畫技巧，並與充滿獨特的東方生活氣息的內容相結合。他的作品非常細膩，甚至有點自然主義的感覺，但是又有超越一般模特寫生的內涵一在那裡有一陣淡淡的向自然回歸的蘊律。他似乎並不忌避描繪女性對象時的坦敞而恰到好處。既把人的靈性袒露，又把人的欲求詩化。與其說是在畫一個裸女，不如說是對人生的某種敘說，某種嘆息。（選自《趙大陸油畫作品》）

Dalu Zhao, who have received college training, whose body paintings havethe characteristics of academic style, are portrayed accurately and expressedadequately. From a professional point of view, his basic skills have been mastereddeeply and solidly. Thus, Dalu s paintings should be classified as realism, oreven classicism in terms of a style or a genre. Commented by Westerners, Dalu sartwork is combined with the Western painting techniques he has learned fromhis mentor during the time in Europe, as well as the oriental life-style contentwhich are presented vividly and uniquely. His work is very delicate, with afeeling of naturalism, but the connotation is far beyond other model paintings witha faint sense of back-to-nature. Dalu seems not to be repellent to portrayfemale subjects in a gracious and appropriate way. By revealing human sspirituality and poetizing people s desire, he is not only painting a nude, butmore is narrating or heaving a sign regarding to life.
