A major Chinese group that is opening a new insurance intermediary in the City of London to generate business for another group company is now seeking a Chinese speaking Operations Manager to join its expanding team to run the daily operations of the company, recruit new staff as the business grows and develop relationships with the group companies. The opportunity is further enhanced as the individual could be in pole position to take over the management of the company within a couple of years when the current Director returns to China.
The Operations Manager』s responsibility is to utilise your experience and manage the start-up of a new insurance intermediary, introduce the processes and procedures to maintain compliance with the firm』s regulatory permissions.
As the Chinese speaking Operations Manager your duties will be to:
Introduce appropriate systems and controls to manage the business in a compliant manner.
Participate in and run the internal operations activities as the business commences.
Construct management information to address the Systems and Controls requirements to manage the business on a daily basis.
Take responsibility for any financial promotions the firm may introduce and ensure appropriate sign off is achieved prior to introduction.
Recruit additional staff, when required, as the business grows.
Write and maintain job descriptions for newly appointed staff.
Introduce training plans for all staff for their regulated activities and introduce process and procedures to ensure that the regulated insurance products.
Manage the firm』s compliance monitoring programme and arrange completion of the firm』s reporting obligations.
Work with the firm』s external compliance consultants to ensure monitoring and reporting information is available as appropriate.
Liaise with the firm』s underwriters of new business regarding contractual arrangements.
To be a successful Chinese speaking Operations Manager you will have the following skills and experience:
Previous experience working in an FCA regulatory environment.
In return, the Chinese speaking Operations Manager can expect a basic salary up to £80,000 per annum.
