26.最愚鈍的比丘

在王舍城的竹林精舍，有一位名叫般特的比丘，以愚鈍出名。在佛陀身邊聽法三年，連三句偈子都背不下來。經常受人嘲笑。

佛陀慈憫他，說:「今日我就教你兩句話，你記牢它，作為用功的法門。其他都不讓你學了。這兩句話是"守口攝意身莫犯，如是行者得度世 」。

般特比丘聽了，用了三年的時間，終於能背了下來。他很是歡欣，去背給佛陀聽。佛陀聽了很高興，說：「你用了三年的時間，才記住這首一般人早已耳熟能詳的偈子，實在不足為奇，所以你一定要了解它的含意，只有這樣，才能有所精進。」

在竹林精舍，每隔一段時間都有新皈依的佛門弟子進來。佛陀為了教化他們，每天都會安排一位弟子前去宣講佛法。

這時，新來的佛弟子正想開口捉弄他，卻怎麼也發不出聲音，這時，他們才驚恐地發現，自己可能冒犯了聖者。
