BEIJING: German luxury carmaker Audi AG has come under fire from consumers in China for an advertisement (video below) that compared buying a second-hand car to checking out a bride-to-be.
德國豪華車製造商奧迪的一則廣告把女性比作二手車,遭到中國消費者的抨擊。
Audi, which is attempting to revive its sales in the world』s biggest car market, said on Wednesday that it deeply regretted the advert and that it had been withdrawn.
正致力於恢復其在世界最大汽車市場銷量的奧迪,於周三就該廣告「深感遺憾」,稱已經撤下了相關廣告。
The video, which has gone viral since being aired online and in cinemas this week, showed a mother-in-law examining her son』s bride as the young couple waited at the altar to be married, an attempted play on a common stereotype of fussy Chinese parents.
該廣告在網上走紅。廣告中,婆婆沖向正在等待舉行婚禮的夫婦,「粗暴」檢查媳婦的身體狀況
Thousands of Chinese consumers went online to mock the advert, saying it was sexist and demeaning to women. On Tencent Holdings』 popular chat app WeChat nearly half a million people mentioned 「Audi second hand car」 on Tuesday.
數以千計中國消費者在網上嘲笑該廣告,稱這是性別歧視,是對女性的侮辱。

This advert is totally unacceptable, demeaning to all women and tbe Chinese as a race. Despite the on going enmity between our two countries , i am hundred percent with the Chinese people on this.
